Method

  1. 1

Get the butter into a bowl and melt it in the microwave.

  2. 2

Add the sugar and give it a good mix.

  3. 3

Crack in the egg and mix everything together until it is nice and smooth.

  4. 4

Add the cocoa powder and plain flour, with a pinch of salt.

  5. 5

Give it a big mix, but do not overdo it. You want everything combined but still nice and thick.

  6. 6

If you have got some chocolate lying around, chop it up and throw it in. This is optional, but honestly, why would you not.

  7. 7

Line an oven dish with baking paper and pour the brownie mixture straight in.

  8. 8

Give the dish a little shake to level everything out, and into the oven at 180C for 18 to 22 minutes.

  9. 9

The middle should still have a little bit of wobble when you take it out. That is how you get that fudgy brownie.

  10. 10

Let it cool for a few minutes, then cut it into squares.
